Cwmavon WI’s admirable display in the the annual Glamorgan Federation of Women’s Institutes darts competition ensured that Cwmavon had representatives in the final of a recent tournament.
St Athan, the winning team, who beat Cwmavon in the final
The tournament, which was held in LLanharry Workingmen’s Club, saw 14 women’s teams from across Glamorgan competing against one another. The teams competed in two groups with the winner of each group facing the other in the final.
Cwmavon WI booked a place in the final which saw them compete against St Athan WI. A close fought contest between the two teams saw St Athan WI edge it, however congratulations go to all contestants who attended the event.
A spokeswoman said: “The event was a large success with good levels of support being shown for the teams competing.”
